I have experience of working in the following domains:

  • Theatre performances – from Shakespeare to pantomime!
  • Political – a variety of political conferences, including many times for the Scottish Labour Party and interpreting at the opening of the new Scottish Parliament. I particularly enjoy interpreting at political events.
  • Conferences – ranging from national Union Conferences to local seminars.
  • Legal – appointments with Solicitors, Police interviews, and a full range of Court assignments.
  • Council Services – appointments at all Council departments.
  • Social Services – Social Work meetings ranging from counselling to case conferences involving child protection, Children’s Panels and custody cases. Probation supervisions and on-going reviews.
  • Welfare Rights – Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) application forms and any subsequent tribunals.
  • Employment - Job interviews, work-related training, staff meetings, disciplinary hearings, tribunals and appraisals.
  • Medical - GP appointments; Hospital admissions and consultations.
  • Education – School meetings, College and University courses/lectures and numerous graduation ceremonies.
  • Religious – Christenings, weddings, funerals in a variety of denominations.
  • Literature - translation of video or printed material into BSL, including voice-over.
